We arrived in Chanute, Kansas on Tues afternoon, 18 October. We are parked at the City of Chanute Santa Fe RV Park. You can park free for 48 hours and then it is $10 per night. On Wed morning we went to the NuWa factory to take the tour of the factory. It was an interesting tour and neat to see how our trailer was built. Nuwa does mostly factory direct sales. There are only a few RV Dealers that sale the Hitchhiker 5th wheels. In the afternoon and we met with one of the salesmen and discussed ordering a new trailer. We were very interested in a new 2012 model that just went into production. The first one is being built right now so we were able to get an idea of what it will look like when finished. We took all info back to trailer so we could look it over and make a decision. On Thurs we got a call from the service department that they could take our trailer in the afternoon. We didn't have an appointment so we were on the wait list. We wanted to get the slides tightened and lubricated. We don't have any problems with the trailer just wanted a couple things serviced. While they had our trailer we took a ride around Chanute. It isn't a very big city, but has lots of history. Many buildings date back to the 1860's. On Fri morning we went back to NuWa and placed our order for a new 2012 Hitchhiker Champagne. It will be ready for us to pick up the first week in January. It will depend on the weather when we will pick it up. We are excited to see our new 5th wheel.
We will be leaving tomorrow 22 Oct for Fayetteville, Arkansas to visit friends Jerry & Paula Myler. Jerry & Ray worked together in Italy. We look forward to spending a couple days parked in their yard.
