South Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida

On the 6th December we drove to Cecil, Georgia, just north of Valdosta and spent 3 nights at the Cecil Bay RV Park just off of I-75. It used to be a pecan orchard that has been turned into a RV Park.  If you are there in the fall you can pick up some good Georgia pecans. We stopped here to visit Ray's cousin Joyce and her daughter Edie.  We had a nice visit.
On Friday we drove down to Jacksonville, Florida and have been staying at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station RV Park.  My sister Paulette and her husband Fred are staying at the RV park also.  They are here visiting Fred's Mom & Dad. Our son-in-laws parents also live in Jacksonville and we had dinner at Joanne and Bob's house on Saturday night.  Sunday morning we met Paulette and Fred after church at Cracker Barrel.  Then Monday Paulette, Fred, Ray and I we went to St Augustine to Schooners Seafood House for dinner and to see the "Nights of Lights."  Downtown St Augustine is lit up with millions of white lights.  We road a trolley through town to see the lights.  Got off once to have hot apple cider and a sugar cookie and back on the next trolley to finish the tour.  It was a nice evening listening to Christmas music and looking at the beautiful lights.  It has been great being able to see Paulette and Fred.  Hope to see them again while we are all in Texas.
Behind the RV Park is a Nature trail that goes along the banks of the St Johns River.  You can see the NAS along the shore and the I-295 bridge that crosses the river into Jacksonville.  On the edge of the Rv Park is a sign warning you of alligators in the area....a reminder that we are in Florida.  Tomorrow we move south to Orlando....
