The Pima Air & Space Museum

This morning we went to the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.  It is one of the largest air & space museums in the world.  There are five Indoor Hangers, a B-17 390th Memorial Museum, a Space Gallery and the outside aircraft exhibit.  Never saw so many planes at one place.  We must have walked over a mile looking at the planes outside not including the 5 hangers that were full of planes also.  They say there are 300 planes.  I will only post a few photos of airplanes.  I think Ray took over 200 photos. If you are interested in the museum and a list of all the planes, they have a really nice web page    www.pimaair.org

Leaving Texas

We left the San Antonio area on 14 February.  We had a great visit with Jeff, Gennie, Isabella, Jaime, Gabriel, Lexie the dog and Katie the cat.  This will be our last visit to Schertz, Texas.  Jeffrey received his next assignment before we left....our next visit with them will be at McGuire AFB, New Jersey.  Don't think we will be visiting them in January and February.  We are in Benson, Arizona staying at the Saguaro Escapee Co-OP Park.  Our first stop was at the Fort Stockton RV Park on Valentines Day.  We had a nice dinner at the Road Runner Cafe at the RV Park.  Our next stop was 2 nights at the Fort Bliss RV Park in El Paso, Texas.  Fort Bliss has a new shopping area, called Freedom Crossing.  It is the first ever, open air shopping center on a US military installation.  As  you walk down main street there are shops, restaurants, a Grand Theater with 10 screens, play areas, etc.  Really nice.  We have enjoyed our 3 days here at the SKP park and plan to return and stay longer.  We will be going to Mesa, Arizona on Monday.

Our New "Home"

Well we picked up our new "home" 3 weeks ago and we are loving it.  We had our walk through on the 18th January.  We moved the new trailer to the RV park and parked the new trailer next to our old trailer and started transferring our "stuff."  It was so cold, lows were 11 to 14 degrees and highs in mid 30's and very windy.  At least it was dry, no snow or ice.  We finished moving everything into our new trailer by Saturday afternoon.  Sunday we just relaxed and left Monday heading back to Texas.  We stopped in Whitesboro, TX to visit friends for 2 nights.  There was a big storm while we were there, so our trailer got a good water test.....no leaks.  We arrived back in Schertz, TX Friday afternoon.  Saturday was a busy day with the grandkids.  Jaime had his Cub Scout Pinewood Derby on Saturday morning.  We hadn't been to a Pinewood Derby since our boys were involved in Scouts.  Saturday night we went to the San Antonio Rampage hockey game with Jeff, Gennie and kids because Isabella was singing God Bless America with the Texas Children's Choir. It was a great game and the Rampage won.
Last Friday we moved our trailer out to Fort Sam Houston RV Park. Isabella and Gabriel came and spent the night with us.  We had a fun evening until around 11 pm when it started raining and thunderstorms.  Isabella and I don't like the thunder and lightening and couldn't sleep.  Then someone started throwing rocks at our trailer.....large hail stones bouncing off the trailer and covering the ground.  The next morning we discovered our truck has lots of little dents from the hail, but the trailer was fine.  An Insurance adjuster came on Wed.  We will need to wait until we get back to Washington to get it fixed.  Auto body shops are very busy around here.  We will be leaving next week and heading West.  Plan to be back in Snohomish area around the 15th March.
