Savannah, Georgia

Today we drove to Savannah to tour the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace.  Juliette Low was the founder of the Girl Scouts of America.  The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace is owned and operated by Girl Scouts of the USA.  The house is restored to a documented 1886 appearance.  We weren't allowed to take any photos inside the house on the tour, only outside in the garden.  After touring the house and walking to the Wright Square we went to The Lady & Son's Restaurant.  It is Paula Deen's restaurant.  Sunday dinner at the restaurant is The Lady's Southern Buffet.  Items on the Buffet were Southern fried chicken, baked chicken, BBQ pulled pork, rice, creamed potatoes, gravy, okra, creamed corn, lima beans, green beans, yams, mac & cheese, collard greens, salad bar, biscuits, corn pone and choice of dessert- banana pudding, peach cobbler or gooey butter cake.  Everything was delicious.  Best fried chicken I've had in a long time.  Of course we ate too much.
