Schertz, Texas

We have been in Schertz, Texas since New Years Eve visiting Jeffrey, Gennie, Isabella, Jaime and Gabriel.  We are having a good time being able to spend time with them and attending a few of the kids event.  On 3 January we attended Jeffrey's Promotion to Chief Ceremony.  It was a really nice ceremony.
Isabella is a member of The Texas Children's Choir and we attended one of her rehersals.  They have been preparing for their audition this morning in Austin for America's Got Talent TV Show.  She also received her 1 year pin the night we went.  In March they will be traveling to New York to perform at Carnegie Hall.
On Saturday 7 January the boys went to the Alamodome in San Antonio to watch the US Army All-American Bowl.  The best High School football players from the East and the West compete against each other.  The half time show was performed by125 of the nations finest young musicians and color guard members.  Many of the players announced which college they will be attending next year.  One of the best know was Barry Sanders Jr, son of Barry Sanders, running back for the Detroit Lions for several years.  The West won the game.  There were 3 players from Washington State on the West team. One was from Mariners HS in Everett.
The 7th January was also Isabella's 11th Birthday.  We went to Olive Garden for her Birthday dinner and then back to the house for Birthday cupcakes.
We also were able to attend Jaime's Karate Class.  He has earned his Yellow Belt. Gabriel is the Soccer player, but they won't be playing until the spring.
Well tomorrow we will be heading to Chanute, Kansas to pick up our new 2012 Hitchhiker Champagne from the factory.  We have an appointment on Wed, 18 January, for our walk through and delivery.  Then we will spend the next couple days moving our things from the old trailer to the new trailer.  We hope we can get done quickly.  The weather is looking pretty good over the next 10 days.  It will be cold at night but no snow or ice in forecast.  So hopefully all goes well and we can head back to Texas before winter arrives in Kansas.  We are excited to see our new "home."  This is a new model and we haven't seen a completed unit yet, just the floor plan and one that they were building when we visited the factory.  We will return to Texas for a couple weeks.
